Project annexure / Multi-country trial
Developing shorter, safer TB treatment for all patients.
PanTB-HM is a multi-country Phase 2c clinical trial investigating a novel pan-TB treatment regimen designed to work regardless of rifampicin resistance status. The study combines antimicrobial treatment and host-directed therapy approaches aimed at improving cure, preserving lung health and simplifying TB treatment globally.
Investigating a new treatment approach designed to simplify TB care and improve long-term patient outcomes.
Designed to work without requiring prior rifampicin susceptibility testing.
Investigating treatment approaches that may reduce treatment duration.
Exploring whether NAC can help protect the lungs and liver during treatment.
Looking beyond cure to support long-term patient health outcomes.
SBPN Regimen
Combining evidence, innovation and implementation.
Designed for treatment regardless of rifampicin resistance status.
Investigating whether NAC may help reduce treatment-related damage and support recovery.
Evaluating sutezolid as a potentially safer treatment option.
Exploring how treatment impacts lung health beyond microbiological cure.
Current TB treatment regimens are often long, complex and difficult to tolerate, particularly for people living with drug-resistant TB.
Even after cure, many patients experience long-term lung damage that affects quality of life and overall health.
PanTB-HM is investigating whether a shorter, simpler treatment approach can improve outcomes while helping preserve long-term lung function.
