01 / Clinical research
Aurum delivers clinical studies from early-phase trials to large multicountry programmes, supported by specialist teams, research sites and laboratory infrastructure.
At Aurum, clinical research is closely connected to the communities and health systems where it has the greatest potential to make a difference. Our studies span the continuum from early-phase clinical trials to large multicountry studies.
Strong research begins with strong partnerships.
For more than two decades, our researchers have worked with governments, communities, academic institutions and industry partners to address some of the world's most pressing infectious diseases, with particular expertise in tuberculosis, HIV, vaccines and diagnostics.
Our multidisciplinary teams work alongside communities, healthcare providers and research partners throughout the research process: from study design and participant engagement to implementation and knowledge translation.
Aurum's clinical research network includes five research sites across South Africa, supported by specialist laboratories, pharmacy services and research infrastructure. Together, these facilities enable the delivery of clinical studies ranging from first-in-human trials to large multicountry research programmes. To date, our teams have conducted more than 180 studies and enrolled more than 67,000 research participants.
Our laboratory network supports every stage of the research process, from specimen collection and processing to advanced laboratory analysis and long-term biorepository management.
Aurum's facilities are designed to meet international quality standards and support a wide range of clinical research activities, enabling multidisciplinary teams to generate reliable, high-quality data across diverse research settings.
